I have a great love for botanical gardens and Ventnor’s offering did not disappoint, managing to find a balance between ease of navigation and information while retaining a natural feel. The fernery was a particular favourite of mine, with the large fig tree coming in a close second.
To visit, park in the on-site car park (50°35’23.3″N 1°13’38.3″W). The nearest railway station is Shanklin, from here there is a special Rail link service (No:16) that meets up with the train and goes through to St Lawrence stopping at the stopping at the Botanic Garden. Ventnor is the nearest Southern Vectis bus-stop to the gardens, served by No’s: 3/3A, 7/7A/7B and 6. Once in Ventnor visitors should change onto the No: 16 Rail link bus, which is currently the only bus to serve the Gardens.
