At 318 acres, Talybont Reservoir is the largest still-water reservoir in the central Brecon Beacons.

There are lay-bys and car parks alongside the Talybont to Pontsticill road and on the other side of the dam. We parked in a car park on the west of the lake (51°52’06.8″N 3°18’32.3″W). You can cross the road, heading right, then turn left up a path to go uphill for a nice view of the reservoir, or, go through the car park gate and walk along the reservoir bank.
