Plunging 90ft (27m) into a wooded gorge, Henrhyd waterfall is the tallest waterfall in southern Wales. The damp, heavily wooded gorge, with its thin soils and steep rocky slopes, is a haven for shade and damp-loving plants. Keep your eyes peeled for mosses, liverworts and lichen; their presence is why the area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

To get here: Park free of charge in the national trust car park (51°47’44.4″N 3°39’51.6″W), and follow the path down to the junction at the bottom, from here turn left to cross the bridge over the Nant Llech and walk up the wooden staircase to rejoin the path. The waterfall is two minutes from here.
