England, Somerset, Mendips: Chew Valley Lake

During our visit here we went through a range of weather; an interesting way to observe a location in different lights and temperatures (though the arrival of storm Katie was an interesting experience to sit through in a camper). Storms aside, this is a beautiful place, well worth a visit. We walked around the entire lake, around 9 miles, as well as the grebe and bittern nature trails. Over 270 species of birds have been recorded the lake and it’s the third most important site in Britain for wintering wildfowl.
