We happened to be here on a beating hot day, so after passing the ironworks and finding our way to the gorge, we put on our wet shoes and spent the afternoon walking upriver; lots of fun and beautiful too.
Also in the area is a quarry, ironworks, viaduct, limeworks, various tunnel mouths, another quarry, some arches, bridges, and more.
To get here: Park at the Gorge Parking (51°48’49.9″N 3°07’05.3″W). Turn right out of the car park and pass through the town, taking a further right you will find a path that leads down to the gorge.
