Llangorse Lake is the largest natural lake in South Wales. It is a Special Area of Conservation, long regarded as a place where fish and birds are found in unusually high numbers. The Llangasty Nature Reserve forms an important protected area around the lake’s boundary.

To get here: You can park in the main car park (51°56’11.8″N 3°16’08.2″W) at the north of the lake which has a small shop, and the only example of a crannog in Wales. Or if you want a quiet spot, go to the south; just past the church, there is a small car park (51°55’38.8″N 3°15’44.8″W) with not much more than a picnic table and nature, bliss.
