Goathland is a tiny village where you’re more likely to meet sheep on the street than people. It is also the starting point for a couple walks to waterfalls, and the nearest village to where we were camped.

The first walk we did was Beck Hole. A lovely waterfall where you can take a dip too.

The second walk I did solo while the rest of the group slept. Mallyan Spout is less of a day spot than Beck hole, but a peaceful wander nonetheless.

To get to Mallyan Spout here park in Gothland (54°23’41.1″N 0°43’43.5″W) and take the path directly next to The Mallyan Spout Hotel. For Beck Hole we walked from the village, though there did appear to be places to park nearer (54°24’28.5″N 0°43’55.1″W).
