Beacon Hill Country Park encompasses a nature area with trails, rustic play equipment for kids, sculptures, an arboretum, and even a rhododendron labyrinth.
For me, the rhododendron labyrinth was the top attraction! For some unknown reason, exploring rhododendron dells as a child is a key memory for me, so I’m always happy to come across one, and this one has easily walkable paths cut through it for the experience without the crawling around.
The sculptures and play area are carved by chainsaw on site, a nice extra visual as you wander around.
The arboretum was a little bare at this time of year, but still a pleasant and interesting wander. And as we started the walk to the other end of the park quite late, we got a nice sunset and moon view at the end.
To visit, there is (paid) parking at both the upper (52°43’35.9″N 1°14’49.2″W) and lower (52°43’42.1″N 1°13’45.4″W) ends of the park.
