Anyone who has been following me for a while knows that my dream is to build an off grid cabin in the woods. This is something I have been working towards for years, but one day I woke up and realised ‘what am I waiting for?’ I may not be able to do the full dream right now, but there’s nothing stopping me from doing something in that direction. So I decided to build a little cabin at the bottom of my garden.
By happenstance, I was put in contact with someone who builds things our of reclaimed materials and we decided to do an exchange that meants he would bring his knowledge, manpower, and most importantly tools, to help me get the external structure up. The timing that worked out for both of us meant building in winter, but we were both up for it. And within two weeks, we had a waterproof structure.

What a great start to this project. I spent the last couple of weeks of the year catching up with friends and family before heading to Mexico for the remainder of the winter, carrying with me the energy of bringing this space into reality. Part 2 coming soon!
