Nestled along the scenic Norfolk Coast, Waxham Summer Camp welcomes visitors for five weeks each year during the school summer holidays. Set within 20 acres of farmland with four expansive fields, edged by sand dunes and featuring its own dedicated slipway leading directly to the golden shores of the beach.

One highlight of Waxham is its resident population of curious and friendly seals, often spotted swimming or basking in the sun. A large colony of them nest at Horsey Gap, just a short walk down the beach. Campers are encouraged to enjoy their presence while maintaining a respectful distance.

Regular campers fondly refer to it as “Waxfam,” reflecting the sense of community, camaraderie, and connection with nature that gives Waxham the almost festival vibes it’s known for.

Families and friends can pitch their tents, soak in the views, and embrace the spirit of outdoor adventure, while taking part in a range of activities organised by campers and the Waxham team throughout the 5 weeks, including:

  • Gong baths
  • Yoga & Tai Chi
  • Breath work sessions
  • Storytelling & theatre performances
  • Children’s crafts & circus activities
  • Football & group games

Additionally, for 2 weekends in August, the campsite comes alive with licensed live musical performances.

And at the end of the day, whether you’re watching a sunrise or sunset, or sitting around a fire gazing at shooting stars on a moonlit night, or if you’re lucky the northen lights, Waxham offers night skies free of light pollution to enjoy the scene.
