A laid back coastal town with gardens laced with a network of paths that run along the seafront, rock pools for spotting critters, and a mixture of sand and pebble beaches. It’s also a good place to park and spend a day hiking the coastal cliffs of the Seven Sisters area; up to Beachy Head and on towards Cuckmere Haven.

We parked at a friend’s hotel so can’t advise, but there are many car parks along the seafront.
